Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick: Thrilling Pink Review

My love for lipsticks started with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick range. I was at Colorbar counter and the lady at the counter showed me the Colorbar Velvet Matte lipstick, this was about 3 years back. The very first shade which I bought was peach crush, a beautiful pink peach lipstick and I fell for this lipstick in first swatch. Subsequently when I used this lipstick, I loved its formula and color pay off. Since then I almost have bought around 10 shades from the Colorbar Velvet Matte lipsticks range.  The shade Thrilling Pink which I am reviewing today was gifted to me by my friends.

Well it is gifted. But one can buy from following link:

Product Claim:

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick is a rich lip color that provides creamy shiny look to your lips. Made from 2-in-1 formulation, it provides your lips a matte finish which is yet creamy in nature. Vitamin E included in this product helps to nourish your lips and gives a soft and supple appearance. It has a staying ability of around 5 hours. To get a perfect look, apply it with a lip liner and a lip gloss.

My Experience: Thrilling Pink

The lipstick comes in a bullet form covered with a plastic transparent covering. The lipstick has a see through cap which helps in having a look at the shade. The name of the shade and the color of the lipstick can be seen at bottom of the lipstick also. The manufacturing and expiry dates are mentioned on the rim at the bottom of lipstick. The lipstick shuts with a sound and once shut will not open in bag unless applied pressure; which makes it travel friendly.

Well the texture of the lipstick is very creamy, soft and matte. While my other Colorbar velvet matte lipstick turns into matte immediately after application, this one is more on the glossy side initially and then turns semi matte with glossy lips. I really like the texture of the lipstick as it is not at all drying on lips but will settle in fine lines of the lips. When the lipstick settles in the fine lines of lips it looks bad.

Shade and Pigmentation:

I have dusky skin tone and this shade looks subtle neon pink on my lips which is perfect for summer. This shade is pure neon pink on my skin tone but will look natural pink on beauties with fair and medium skin tone. This shade will look good only with base and makeup on face else this will completely wash out my face. Overall the shade is very good and a perfect neon pink for dark skin beauties.

The pigmentation of shade is not as good as compared to the other shades from the range. One needs to swipe 2-3 times for a completely opaque look on lips. My lips are pigmented hence it took more than 2 swipes, but if you have naturally red/ pink lips, this shade will not require many swipes. For me the pigmentation is below average.

Staying Power:

These lipstick stay on lips for forever, I mean that they last really long on lips and this quality does not changes in this shade also. As per the claim of product, this actually stays on for 4-5 hours with light eating. Even after lunch the shade lightens but the stain on the lips stays for the day until I remove it via makeup remover. The stain left by the lipstick on the lips may or may not be liked by everybody, but I personally love the stain left over.
