Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Makeup Remover Review

Hi friends,

As much as I love applying makeup, I also understand the importance of cleaning the makeup properly. Also, especially in summers, when we opt for mostly water and sweat proof makeup, removing them with water is just not enough. Currently I am using FabIndia makeup remover for removing my day to day makeup. The FabIndia makeup remover cannot remove lip and eyes makeup effectively. As I got the Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Make Remover in Maybelline Colossal eye kit, I used this product and was impressed by it. Do check out the eye kit review :

So let us start the review:

Price:
Rs 300/- (I got it with Maybelline Colossal Eye Kit)

Product Claim:
A Bi-phase makeup remover that cleans all type of makeup without leaving a residue.
Benefits:
  • Powerful Bi-Phase Formula : Removes long lasting and waterproof makeup while leaving skin soft
  • Fast acting dissolving agents : Instantly breaks down all types of stubborn eye makeup
  • Lids and lashes are remarkably clean and moisturized, with no residue
  • Dermatologist and allergy tested
My review:

Packaging:

The packaging is a plastic transparent bottle which twists open and the product dispenses from a small piercing on the top of the bottle. The bottle is very sturdy and locks tight, which makes it travel friendly. The piercing on the top of bottle helps in controlling the amount of product required on cotton, hence less product wastage.
Overall the packaging is really good.

Usage:

The product is Bi-phased remover that means one has to shake it well to mix the two phases before usage. After mixing, take the product on cotton and use it all over face, eyes and lips for removing the makeup. For removing eye and lip makeup, I take the product on cotton and place it on eyes or lips and count till 5 and then wipe of the makeup.

Experience:

My current makeup remover from FabIndia takes off the makeup from face really well but it irritates my eyes and lips when I try to remove the makeup. Actually, my eyes literally start burning and my lips get chapped. I was so much in need of a good makeup remover and this Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Makeup Remover is the one. Following images will show how well it takes out the makeup:

Foundation and Blush:

This remover works effectively in breaking down the foundation and blush applied on the face. It takes only 2-3 swipe of product to completely take off the products.

Kajal, Liner and Mascara:

The kajal and liner that I have tested in below images are from Maybelline Colossal range which are water proof and stay as long as 8 hours on eyes. To break down the eye makeup, I took 4 to 5 drops of product on cotton swab and placed it on my eyes counted till 5 and then wiped of the makeup. It takes around two-three swipes to completely take off eye makeup.

Eye Shadows:

The Eye shadows applied over an eye shadow base tends to stick on to the lids for long. This makeup remover takes of the color of the shadows very well in 2-3 swipes or more depending upon the quantity of shadows applied on eyes. This remover fails in taking off the shimmer of the shadows, but that will do for me, as anyways after cleansing my face with a face wash, the remains of shimmer also go away.

Lipstick:

The lipstick I have tested below is a Colorbar Matte range lipstick which stays really long on my lips and leaves a stain on my lips. The remover takes of the lipstick very well in 2-3 swipes. If one has only left with lipstick stain on lips, this remover will take off the product in one swipe.

Pros and Cons:
Pros:
  •          Travel friendly.
  •          No irritation on eyes and lips
  •          Great performance
  •          Affordable

Cons:
  •         Can’t take off shimmers

Ratings:
Packaging: 5/5
Usage: 5/5
Experience: 5/5

Overall Rating: 5/5

Final Verdict:

I am in love with this makeup remover for its effectiveness and speed with which it takes off makeup without irritating my eyes and lips. A big thumbs up.
