Maybelline has come up with many new products this summer. The products include some new red lipsticks named as Big Apple Reds Lipsticks. Red is one of my favourite color in lipsticks hence when I read about these lipsticks I thought to give them a try. I have also reviewed the Maybelline newly launched eye shadow palettes.

My review: Shade 210 Dare to be Red
The lipstick comes covered in a plastic that has the price and ingredients information mentioned. These newly launched Maybelline Color show Big Apple Red lipsticks have same packaging as the other color show lipsticks from the brand. The lipstick has black matte color outside and a red ring in the centre, at which the lipstick is to be opened. The lipstick has very sturdy packaging which makes it travel friendly also.
Texture and Pigmentation:
The texture of the lipstick is soft and creamy. The lipstick glides on smoothly on lips and does not feel heavy on lips. The lip color does not settle in fine line of lips and does not get patchy after application. The formula is creamy matte as lipstick remains glossy for some time and then turns into matte but not drying on lips. One noticeable thing as soon as you open the lipstick is the fruity smell that I personally do not like.
The shade has good pigmentation on lips i.e. if one has less pigmented lips, the shade will give opaque color in one swipe, but as I have pigmented lips, the shade took 2-3 swipe to show up good opaque glossy color. Overall, I am satisfied with the pigmentation of the shade.
The shade Dare to be red is a red shade with light pink undertones that will suit on all skin color beauties. The shade looks like a red rose petal color and does not have any shimmer particles in it but still add gloss on the lips when applied. Although the gloss stays on the lips for very short time may be half an hour than the color turns into matte and stays on for long on lips.
The lipstick stays on for good 5-6 hours with light eating and drinking. Even though after a meal, the lipstick fades away but leaves a nice mix of pink and red color stain on lips that looks good. The lipstick does transfer on to drinking glass or cup but a good layering of product will maintain the lipstick on lips for long. I really like the staying power of the lipstick as it survives a meal and leaves a hint of color on lips.
Pros and Cons of the Dare to be Red
1. Smooth and glossy application.
2. Easy to apply.
4. Good pigmentation
5. Good staying power
7. Less transfer
8. Does not dry on lips
9. Suit all skin tones
2. Colors in the range look more or less same
Texture and Pigementation: 4.5/5
Staying Power: 4.5/5
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Final Verdict:This lip color is going to be one of my favourite everyday reds as it is a warm red color and looks very subtle on the face. Only the smell is one major drawback else the lip color is perfect.
