THE BODY SHOP: SATSUMA BODY BUTTER REVIEW

Since childhood, my understanding of body lotion was application of coconut oil before bathing in winters and technically nothing in summers. But later on in college I thought of trying body lotions and hence use to apply one from Ayur, Nivea, Vaseline etc. But then when life became busy with no time for body pampering, I just didn’t applied any body lotion whatsoever. I use to read and hear a lot of benefits of applying body lotion daily, but due to laziness and busy day, I just use to forget applying them.

The Body Shop is one of those shops wherein I always wanted to buy something one day as the products are to expensive but smell so amazing. Recently The Body Shop was on sale and this time I thought let us just give into it and buy something. Hence after lot of testing, I bought this body butter named Satusma Body Butter. The first thing that attracted me to this was the color for the  packaging. So let us see the review:

Rs 1095/-  for 200 ML

My Review:

Packaging:

The packaging of this body butter is in a tub form and is no different. What I really loved and attracted my eye was its bright orange outer color. The packaging of the butter is tub which may or may not like by everybody, but I don’t mind tub packaging. The list of ingredients and the quantity of product is mentioned on the bottom of the packaging.

Texture:

The body butter has butter like consistency and is very smooth to touch. The body butter is pale orange color almost similar to cream color with hint of orange color. As the texture of body butter is smooth, it spreads also very easily on the body. The body butter does not impart any greasy feeling on body which is really good.

Fragrance:

The fragrance of the body butter is absolutely amazing. The body butter has a citrus like smell, kind a mix of orange and lemon smells. I loved the smell the moment I opened the tub in the shop and just fell in love with it. The smell does last on the body for 2-3 hours, which is great.

Performance:

As per the claim that the product moisturizes for 24 hr is false. My hands and body are semi- dry but my legs are super dry. So the product fares differently on my different parts of body. On my hands the products lasts for 4-5 hours while on the body it lasts more. On my super dry legs, this product lasts for 3-4 hours and then my legs start drying. Well this product is more moisturizing on my body than any other product I have used till date what I was expecting more. I am really happy with the smell lasting power, but I expected the body butter to hydrate me for a longer time.

Usage:

I have always noticed that body lotions spread more evenly and fast if applied right after shower. Hence I apply the body butter right after my shower on my semi wet body and the body butter spreads easily. Also, the product spreads so easily that less is more i.e. a tiny bit of product is required for good hydration. The moment one applies this on body the smell is exotic.

Pros and Cons of Satusma Body Butter:

1)      Creamy and smooth
2)      Spreads easily
3)      Smells Amazing
4)      Suit wide range of skin types
5)      Need Tiny amount
6)      Good Moisturization

Cons:
1)                   Expensive for body lotion
2)                   Smell does not lasts long
3)                   24 Hr hydration claim false

Rating:

Packaging: 4/5
Texture: 5/5
Fragnance: 5/5

Overall Rating: 4.5/5

Final Verdict:

Well I just loved this body butter, but it will take me ages to finish this tub, hence buying another one is something I have not thought of. But,  I would like to try other product from the same range as I just loved the smell.
