Fran Wilson Mood Matcher Split Stick Dark Blue Yellow Review

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to my blog, today I am reviewing the Fran Wilson MoodMatcher Split Stick lipstick with colors Dark blue and Yellow. The color changing lipstick is a very new concept to me and I am very excited about it. Earlier I have reviewed the Fran Wilson Moodmatcher lipstick shade blue. I bought both the lipstick together as I was pretty excited by the color change formula. So let us see the review:

 My review:

The packaging of the lipstick is very similar to other Fran Wilson Moodmatcher lipstick. It comes in typical twist lipstick packaging and has completely black body made of plastic. The cap of the lipstick consists of a gold ring, is transparent, and hence shows the color of the stick.  In addition, the outer cap of the lipstick consists of list of ingredients. The stick in the lipstick in two colours i.e. one side it is yellow and other side it is blue. Overall, the packaging is average.

The lipstick is very silky smooth in application but turns a bit trying after some time. When applied on the lips it glides on smoothly irrespective of whether you have applied lip balm or not. However, after some time the lips start to dry and hence lip balm is must. Overall I like the texture as it is easy to apply.

The stick has two colours yellow and blue, which either have to apply individually or applied in a mix. When applied on individually on lips it does not gives much color and the color looks the same whether applied from blue side or yellow side. However when applied in a mix, the shade is a light purple pink color.  I usually apply one color on my upper lips and second color on lower lip and merge them together to mix the two shades properly.  This shade will suit all skin colors and is an ideal summer or daytime shade. The shade settles well on lips and does not bleed.

The pigmentation of the shade is amazing i.e. it requires single swipe for opaque coverage and good color on lips. The color on first application is sheer and looks like a lip balm, but after 1 minute, the color starts to develop on lips.

Staying Power:

The staying power of the shade is amazing. The shade will survive on the lips beyond 12 hours.  No matter what you eat or drink, the color on the lips will not move at all. For the price it is being sold, I think the staying power is awesome. The shade has zero transferability and is difficult to remove form lips even with makeup remover.

Pros and Cons of the Lipstick
